I have the in dash kenwood dvd unit and the installation of the ice-link Ipod unit was super easy.  I don't think I'll ever use c.d.'s again.

Thanks JassyD8!  I just picked up mine from the local Best Buy.  I'd been watching online at Discount Car Stereo but this price was the best!  Hooked it up in 20 minutes and it is truely awesome!  I didn't realize that it scrolls through the song and artist on the shaker display.  Bonus!

Here's the link on how to install:

http://www.jtephoto.com/mustang/idiot...uide/Idiots.htm

It's for the PIE, but you get the idea.  No splicing or extra wire harness are needed either!  Plug and Play.

Can the iPod be controlled and viewed from the Shaker controls or does it just display the current track?

OK, some scary stuff happened today.  My dash idiot lights turned on, the gas guage read empty and my turn signal stopped clicking.  All was resolved when I removed this item.

I think I'll stick with MP3 CDs and put my $150 towards some other improvement.

JassyD8 was right on the money!
I did install the peripheral electronics iPod up grade on my S197 today. No more cds.
Now I can listen to my iPod. I might later add HD radio and xm. This system is just awesome. It is sold at Best Buy for $149.00. Like JassyD8 said it takes about 25 mins installed. I don't have any pics of it being installed.

I just installed this on my car this evening.  I got it at Best Buy for $99.99.  It took me a little longer than 20 minutes (it could be that I am a little challenged).  It worked great.  I can run the whole Ipod from the radio.  I wired the Ipod into the center console.  I was able to hide the wiring and while I had the center console off I also hid the GPS wiring.

I have a 500 and its works fine.  I don't know if they have them for other MP3 players.  I would guess they do.

Didn't it say as long as there was a 3.5 jack on the player it would work?
